INDIGO DYEING

Selah and I had the privilege of being invited to a indigo dyeing workshop and dinner party, hosted by the lovely jes + em, with indigo dyeing techniques taught by Maggie Pate of inks & thread. The afternoon and evening were a perfect addition to spring! The workshop left us with some beautiful, hand-dyed items that make a great addition to our wardrobes. It was awesome to learn about the indigo dyeing process, especially the part where the fabric initially comes out of the dye vat green until it oxidizes and turns the beautiful blue we all know and love.  As evening rolled in, jes + em brought out a wonderful dinner that left our bellies full. It was really the perfect Saturday. Hope you enjoy the images! (Selah makes an appearance in the images. And also look out for the one and only Jaime Smialek, of Our Ampersand Photography.)
